Nano in the News
Many countries around the world, including South Africa, are faced with the growing challenge of ensuring that their citizens have access to clean and safe drinking water. In South Africa, it is estimated that 5.7 million people do not have access to basic water services. In developing countries, poor water and sanitation are the main cause of health problems for almost half of the population.

Future water availability is one of the biggest threats facing the people of South Africa. Like elsewhere in the world, South Africa is facing a growing, complex challenge – to provide clean, safe drinking water to its growing population of citizens – as freshwater resources face rising pressure to provide for the social, economic and environmental needs of a growing population.
